Operational Planning Concept
Operational plan contains the details of the way how should be implemented the strategic plan on the organizations’ daily activity. Usually is performed by the intermediate managers, with the cooperation of the supervisors. Operational plans can originate two types of plans:
- Unit use plans, used in situations that occur only one time or simply occasionally and to solve non repetitive problems. Include the programs (specification of goals, steps to perform, chronologic ordination, definition of execution deadlines and attribution of responsibilities), projects (small and isolated portions of the programs) and correspondent budgets (quantification of the necessary financial resources).
- Long lasting plans, used in situations that occur repeatedly on the organizations’ daily activity. Include policies (establish general lines to follow in the decision taking), procedures (contains details of how to perform, including deadlines, in certain situations) and rules (contains details of how to perform before specific situations) of the organization.
