General Systems Theory Presentation
General Systems Theory (GST) is an interdisciplinary theory, developed by Ludwing von Bertalanffy, a German biologist, together with Carl G. Hempel, Robert E. Bass and Hans Jonas, containing several principles and general models which allow that the discoveries made in any science area can be used in other areas. According to that theory, systems cannot be completely understood just by the separate analysis of each one of the parts – need comprehension and interdependence of all courses and its integration. It were these principles that called the attention of several investigators from different specialist areas, among which economy, psychology, sociology, mathematics, biology and others, which originated several systemic approaches, namely Cybernetic, Information Theory and Operational Investigation and, based on those, Systems Theory.
