Business Intelligence Concept
The English expression Business Intelligence refers to the process of collection, organization, analysis, share and control of information that support the enterprise management. The term arose for the first time in the decade of the 80’s to describe the organization’s capacity to access data and information stored in computer data bases (Data Warehouses, for example), organizing and analyzing them and developing perceptions and understandings about it as a way to give greater support to the decision making process. Business Intelligence systems seek, therefore, to transform the stored data in its computer archives into useful information for the decision making. Systems as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) are good examples of Business Intelligence systems.
